The Junior Jardineros program is designed to be relatively hands-off for parents and caretakers. Kids will be encouraged to check-in with their gardens at least once every other day to take notes on its progress and give it some water 💧, but it is okay if they miss a day or two (the plants will survive!) 😊
Parents and caretakers are encouraged to be as involved as you want! 💕 Each chapter of the curriculum is supplemented by a chapter of additional information, resources, links, videos, and more that parents can use to further explore the topics of each lesson or help to provide assistance or guidance to the children’s activities in each chapter (assembling materials for crafts, cutting up a fruit or vegetable, etc).
Our garden kit is 9”x6”x3”, so it will be able to fit almost anywhere in your home! 🏠 Just place your mini garden anywhere that gets a lot of light each day 🔆 (preferably 6+ hours!).
After the seeds grow into seedlings, you will eventually need to transplant them into a bigger planter 🪴. This will likely happen after the 5 weeks is over, however, we have content in our chapter on transplanting to guide you through this process.
