Why is Light Important?

cute sun.gif

🌤️Plants capture light energy and use this energy to create the food they need to grow. 🌾This process where plants create their own food is called photosynthesis.

🌳Without light, plants starve and die. All life on earth depends upon plants’ ability to photosynthesize! 🌎

<aside> ❓ Is you plant getting enough light? 🌞Make sure your seeds are in the sun for at least 6 to 8 hours per day outdoors or 14 to 16 hours indoors with lightbulbs.

<aside> 💡 Did you know that plants use light to tell time? ⏰ ****For plants that only bloom in the summer or the winter, they know what season it is by measuring the length of the night. Their internal clock knows how many hours it is dark outside per day - how cool is that?
